Communities Taking Action with County Health Rankings & Roadmaps

Community leaders are engaging in efforts to foster opportunity for better health. By looking at drivers of good health, local coalitions are learning from one another, connecting resources and working to close avoidable and unnecessary gaps in opportunities for good health. These successes are building momentum toward larger systemic change in communities across the country. The County Health Rankings & Roadmaps (CHR&R) supports this work with data, evidence and examples. 

Five communities—Collin County (Texas), Florence County (Wis.), Greenbrier County (W.Va), Jefferson County (Ala.), and Lucas County (Ohio)—were highlighted in a recent Bright Research Group report for using data to identify inequities, collaborating with residents and implementing evidence-based strategies. These communities are using CHR&R resources to increase financial stability, prevent substance misuse and advocate for policy changes.
